Welcome to Prestwich and North Western Housing Associations web site. The Association is situated on the outskirts of Manchester in the village of Prestwich with all our properties located on the one site.

The Association was founded over 30 years ago to provide affordable accommodation to the residents of Prestwich. The Associations stock comprises of one and two bedroom apartments that, in the case of the two bedroom units, can accommodate up to 3 people.

We are located in an area that has excellent access to many facilities. Rectory Green is within a few minutes of Junction 17 of the M62, it is adjacent to the metro station providing easy access to Manchester city centre, Salford Quays, Altrincham and Bury. Within a few minutes walk there are a number of local shops including a chemist, newsagent, post office, banks, building society, Marks and Spencer a Tesco store and Iceland store.

Over 90% of tenants are very satisfied.

The apartments are located in low rise blocks around landscaped areas, all the apartments are accessed by entering through locked doors at ground level. We have recently had a new door entry system installed to all the blocks to assist in controlling access to the buildings. Access to all the flats is by a common staircase in each block we do not have lift access to any apartments.

All the apartments have the benefit of full warm air heating system, multi-point water heaters, double glazing, new bathroom suites and new fitted kitchens, along with a new digital aerial system. We have recently had a satellite system installed, all a resident has to do is to subscribe to a service, obtain the box and plug it in to the tv socket outlet and use the Associations dish.

All rents for the apartments include a service charge that is currently £23 per month; rents are due at the beginning of each month and are reviewed annually in accordance with current legislation. Included in the service charge, currently, are the garden maintenance, cleaning and lighting of common parts and window cleaning.

The Association’s criteria for the apartments covers anyone from the age of 25 years old, currently our oldest resident is 98 years of age. Unfortunatly due to the layout of the scheme and lack of play areas we are unable to offer accommodation to families who have children. Other than guide dogs pets are not allowed in the apartments.
